Lizzo is in love and gushes over nickname given to her by boyfriend Myke Wright

Lizzo has revealed she is head over heels in love with beau Myke Wright months after the pair made their relationship public knowledge.

The About Damn Time singer, 34, has been dating Myke for almost a year and has opened up about the pair's connection in a chat on Audacy Check In.

Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Vivian Jefferson, gushed about her feelings to interviewer Kenzie. She admitted: "I am in love."

She then added that Myke has his own name for her behind closed doors. "He has his own name for me; he calls me Melly. He's creative."

Following months of speculation, Lizzo confirmed the pair's relationship in April. Speaking to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM series Radio Andy the eccentric singer revealed the duo go way back and were actually co-hosts on MTV music series Wonderland.

Their first red carpet event came in June this year shortly after the singer's 34th birthday. They showcased their love to the world as they attended the FYC event for her Amazon Prime Video series, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

Lizzo, who often flaunts her physique and looked stunning at this year's MTV VMAs, admitted in July that she hasn't always been confident in her appearance.

Speaking to ELLE UK, she revealed she used to feel "undesirable" and "ashamed" as she believed she didn't have the qualities needed to become a pop star. And she opened up on the lack of body inclusivity portrayed in showbiz.

She said: "I don't want to be the token big girl for the fashion world, I want to open the door."

She continued: "Nearly every star I saw on stage was thinner and light-skinned, and they didn't look like me. I wasn't really set up to believe that I was desirable, for me, being a pop star – part of it is people either want to be you or be with you."

But she went on to admit fame isn't what she got into music for, but instead she likes to create her tunes to help others.
