Lizzo claps back at critics who mocked her pen grip and suggested she's on Ozempic

Lizzo playfully clapped back at social media users who mocked her pen grip and speculated that she's on Ozempic.

The 36-year-old singer, who has openly discussed her natural approach to weight loss, struck bold poses in various swimsuits in an Instagram post on Monday.

Adding a playful nod to ongoing rumours that she used Ozempic to slim down, she captioned her post: “Holding life like an ozempic pen.”

Just last month, she humorously addressed the speculation with her Halloween costume inspired by South Park’s recent special episode, The End of Obesity.

Embracing her name-check on the animated show, the Grammy Winner dressed as “LizzOzempic” in a sparkly version of the weight-loss drug with a measuring tape around her waist.

In one image, posted to Instagram, Lizzo pretended to be part of an ad for “LizzOzempic,” with a tongue-in-cheek message about side effects like “putting a smile on your face and pep in your step.”

Alongside the image, she included the playful slogan: “Need self-love? Try Lizzo! Lose guilt, gain confidence.”

The About Damn Time hitmaker has been at the centre of Ozempic speculation for several months and previously addressed rumours in September.

Along the bottom of her TikTok, she added text that read: "When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and a calorie deficit."

Despite setting the Ozempic rumours straight, Lizzo still found herself under scrutiny - this time for her unusual way of holding a pen, which sparked some online roasting.

In a clip shared after the US presidential election, which Donald Trump won, a close-up showed her hand as she wrote, "Sending love to everyone in the world”.

However fans were quick to call out what they saw as a quirky pen grip, with one commenting “Girl, that is the craziest way I’ve ever seen someone hold a pen.”

“Bruh watching you hold the pen like that give me anxiety,” another wrote. A third remarked: “Love you, but omg the way ur holding the pen How do you write holding the pen like that”.

Of course, others felt seen by her grip, with one writing: ”Oh my gosh, I hold the pen the same way! I was made fun of all through school. And into adulthood. (Love to all.).”

“Cutest lefty I’ve ever seen,” another shared in support.
