'Lizzie's in a box' - Dundee United fans interrupt minute's silence ahead of Rangers clash

Dundee United fans interrupt Rangers minute's silence for the Queen with 'Lizzie's in a box' chants

DUNDEE UNITED supporters today interrupted a minute's silence for the Queen ahead of their match against Rangers with vile "Lizzie's in a box" chants.

Rangers had announced plans for a minute's silence before a rendition of the national anthem in honour of the Queen who passed away last week.

However, as the players gathered at the centre circle boos could be heard from the travelling support with some supporters opposing the tribute.

After Kevin Clancy's whistle to start the minute's silence further boos were heard from some of the travelling support at Ibrox.

Chants of "Lizzie's in a box" were then heard as the rest of Ibrox fell silent to pay their respects.

Following the minute's silence Rangers fans showed their fury at the chants as they booed the away supporters as a rendition of the national anthem began.
