Section of crowd sing distasteful chant about the Queen at Dublin Bellator show

Section of the crowd at the 3Arena sang a distasteful song about the Queen in between bouts at Friday evening's Bellator card.

The Dublin venue hosted Bellator 285 in front of a boisterous crowd as they roared on home favourites Leah McCourt and Ciaran Clarke amongst others.

But at one stage in the evening, sections of the crowd sang "Lizzie's in a box" in reference to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

As for the action in the cage itself, it has turned out to be a superb night for the Irish and Irish-based fighters by and large.

Leah McCourt earned an unanimous decision over Dayana Silva while Clarke won via a submission choke hold in the third round.

There were also victories for Darragh Kelly and SBG fighter Pedro Carvalho.

Karl Moore might have pulled off the win of the night though as he looked all but beaten as he had to absorb some huge shots from Karl Albrektsson early on.

Although he is only one year younger than the 46-year-old, Romero had a considerable speed advantage which allowed him to get on top throughout their contest.

The wrestling silver medalist from the 2000 Olympics literally got on top of his opponent in the third round wherein he started to drop some heavy elbows with the referee not taking too long before stepping in.
