New Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has said he believes Liz Truss will still be Prime Minister at Christmas - despite five Tory MPs already publicly calling for her to step down.
Earlier, Sir Charles Walker became the fifth Conservative MP to call for Ms Truss to go. He described her position as "untenable" and said that "she has put colleagues, the country, through a huge amount of unnecessary pain and upset and worry."
Amid the rebellion, Mr Hunt called on fellow Conservative MPs to "give her a chance" and ruled out becoming PM himself, during an interview on Sky News. "I rule it out, Mrs Hunt rules it out, three Hunt children rule it out," he said.
