Liz Truss will still be able to claim £115,000 per year despite being the shortest serving Prime Minister.
The former Conservative party leader stepped down from her role on Thursday, October 20, after saying that she was unable to deliver the mandate she was elected on by Tory members. Ms Truss was in the role for just six weeks - the equivalent of 44 days.
She may be the shortest-serving PM in British history, but Liz Truss is still entitled to the Public Duty Cost Allowance. This is a payment which assists former prime ministers that are still active in public life.
