Liz Truss urged to turn down 115k a year allowance after just six weeks Prime Minster

Critics of Liz Truss have called on her to decline the £115,000 allowance she's entitled to.

Despite being the shortest-ever serving Prime Minister, Ms Truss is still entitled to the small fortune due to her status as a former PM. Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer said it would be the "right thing to do" to reject the hefty sum of money after she resigned.

Since 1991 and the resignation of Margaret Thatcher, all former Prime Ministers are entitled to an allowance to help support them in their public duties once they leave office. However, many believe that Ms Truss hasn't done enough to receive the money.
