Cristian Montano has been backed to recover from his error and has more than proved his value to Livingston, according to both boss David Martindale and captain Nicky Devlin.
The Colombian left-back was in tears at full-time after he was caught in possession late on by Kai Fotheringham, who rolled the ball into the path of Steven Fletcher for United’s second.
Martindale said: “Cristian was gutted but he got me three points last time we were here. He didn’t lose me three points this time. Yes, he got mugged for the second goal and it made it extremely difficult but he didn’t cost us the game.”
Devlin added: “It’s a team game and Cristian has been one of our best players all season - I don’t think anyone can argue that. He’s disappointed but he’ll pick himself up and get ready for the next five games.”
