A "livid" mum has criticised a school for not letting pupils visit the toilet during lessons.

As temperatures skyrocketed this week, Melanie Hennessy from Teeside instructed her daughter Daisy to drink plenty of water at school to stay hydrated.

However, because of strict school regulations, the 12-year-old was "kept waiting for over an hour" to use the toilet.
