Liverpool youngster 'realised the bigger picture' after leaving for Newcastle in 2021

Former Liverpool starlet Remi Savage has opened up on his decision to leave the club for Newcastle United.

The ex-Reds defender came through the youth ranks at Anfield, initially joining the club at the age of nine. Savage was born in Liverpool, and was also part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2019.

Playing at centre-back, Savage was often a key figure in Liverpool’s Under-23 side. However, a year after signing his first professional contract, Savage left Anfield to sign for Newcastle in June 2021.
