Liverpool have benched Mohamed Salah for today’s Premier League showdown with West Ham.
The Reds legend has come in for plenty of criticism during their recent nightmare run of results and drops out of the team in east London as the under-fire Arne Slot makes four changes, including the return of Florian Wirtz.

The £116million summer signing sat out reeling Liverpool’s embarrassing home defeats by Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven with a knock sustained while playing for Germany during the international break.
In a boost for the Reds, the attacking midfielder proved his fitness in training on Saturday and starts at the London Stadium.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Slot said of Wirtz: "Florian will have his final day of rehab tomorrow.
“So, if that all goes well, he could train with the team on Saturday."
"They don't expect that it has to be a big issue, but the games come fast so let's see for the weekend, “ Slot said of the Frenchman. "But it shouldn't have to be a big issue."
Alisson Becker, who returned from injury against Forest last weekend, missed the Champions League defeat on Wednesday night through illness but starts against the Hammers.
The Brazilian replaces Giorgi Mamardashvili in between the posts and the only other change to the back five sees Joe Gomez make his first Premier League start of the season at right-back in place of Curtis Jones, with Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley both out injured.
With Slot’s options in midfield and attack rather limited, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo all start against West Ham despite subdued showings in midweek.
Up front, Alexander Isak comes in for Ekitike as the club’s record signing bids to get off the mark in the Premier League this season.
