Liverpool XI vs Union Saint-Gilloise: Salah in - Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest

Union Saint-Gilloise are Liverpool’s opponents in the Europa League tonight and the Reds have kept Mohamed Salah in their starting line-up.

The Egyptian gets the nod ahead of Ben Doak as Liverpool, as with their trip to LASK for the opening week of the Europa League, rotate their starting line-up for the visit of Belgian league leaders USG.

Trent Alexander-Arnold comes in for his first start since suffering a hamstring injury last month and his appearance in Wednesday’s pre-match press conference was a further hint at his involvement.

Alexis Mac Allister is on the bench against his older brother Kevin Mac Allister, who joined USG in the summer from Argentinos Juniors.

Konstantinos Tsimikas, Wataru Endo, and Darwin Nunez are among those given a start.

Curtis Jones could be handed an appearance off the bench after his three-match ban for the Premier League was upheld after an appeal, whereas he is still eligible to play in the Europa League.

Cody Gakpo is injured, along with Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Quansah, Tsimikas; Elliott, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Jota

Subs: Jaros, Mrozek, Van Dijk, Gomez, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Robertson, Matip, Chambers, Doak

Injuries: Thiago, Gakpo, Bajcetic

Time and date: 8pm, Thursday October 5

Venue: Anfield
