Liverpool will have Conor Bradley back in the squad for their trip to face Leeds on Saturday.
The defending Premier League champions flattered to deceive against Sunderland in midweek, scraping a 1-1 draw at Anfield after they had fallen behind to Chemsdine Talbi’s goal.
For the second game running, Mohamed Salah found himself on the bench, although Arne Slot introduced the forward at half-time to give the hosts a spark.
That he did, but the Reds still found themselves a goal down when Talbi’s strike arrowed into the corner beyond Alisson.
Florian Wirtz slalomed between bodies and into the penalty area as he opened up a shooting opportunity, and his effort deflected in off Nordi Mukiele to snatch a point for Liverpool.
Their performance against the Black Cats was poor, and Slot may think about changing things around once more with his starting XI for the trip to Leeds.
Alisson, obviously, will continue in goal, while there is no real alternative for Ibrahima Konate alongside Virgil van Dijk, with Joe Gomez - who has been playing on the right - hauled off in the second half in midweek after he picked up a silly yellow card, having also been carrying a knock.
Bradley’s return will come as a huge boost, with Liverpool needing a natural right-back with Jeremie Frimpong still out. Curtis Jones made an impact off the bench there against Sunderland, making the crucial interception before feeding Wirtz.
Slot confirmed on Friday that Bradley would be involved against Leeds, but whether he is fit to start remains to be seen.
“Bradley has trained this week, so he will train today and will be in the squad tomorrow,” Slot said.
At left-back, it is a coin toss between Andy Robertson and Milos Kerkez.
In the engine room, Dominik Szoboszlai could be shifted back inside off the right flank should Salah slot back in, after Alexis Mac Allister did not have his best game on Wednesday.
Alexander Isak was starved of quality service too, and there is potential for him to drop out in favour of Hugo Ekitike.
