Liverpool XI vs Everton: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Mohamed Salah starts for Liverpool against Everton today in what be will be his final ever appearance in a Merseyside derby.

Salah has already announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, with his farewell tour in the Premier League beginning in last week’s 2-0 win over Fulham.

The 33-year-old netted at Anfield but was back on the bench for the Champions League quarter-final second leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

However, Salah was called into action sooner than expected as he replaced Hugo Ekitike after the Frenchman was stretchered off just after the half hour mark with a serious injury.

It has been confirmed that Ekitike will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon injury, thus forcing Arne Slot into a change from the PSG game.

Salah reclaims his place on the right-hand side of the trio behind the main striker, while Alexander Isak leads the line.

Elsewhere, Joe Gomez has been ruled out which means Dominik Szoboszlai starts at right-back.

Alisson Becker will miss a sixth game in a row through injury, thus handing Giorgi Mamardashvili a first taste of a Merseyside derby.

Curtis Jones, sent-off in the last-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park last season, starts in midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch.

Liverpool XI: Mamardashvili; Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak

Subs: Woodman, Pecsi, Kerkez, Mac Allister, Chiesa, Frimpong, Nyoni, Ngumoha

Injured: Ekitike, Gomez, Alisson, Endo, Bradley, Leoni

Time and date: 2pm GMT today, Sunday, April 19, 2026

Venue: Hill Dickinson Stadium
