Liverpool XI vs Crystal Palace: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Freddie Woodman starts for Liverpool against Crystal Palace today with Alisson Becker still sidelined.

The Reds are dealing with a goalkeeper fitness crisis after losing Giorgi Mamardashvili to a knee injury during last week’s dramatic last-gasp victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Third-choice stopper Woodman replaced the Georgian for the remainder of the game, which the Reds won 2-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium thanks to Virgil van Dijk’s 100th-minute header.

Woodman starts against Palace, backed up by youngster Armin Pecsi, with the game coming too soon for Alisson, who has missed the last six matches with a hamstring injury but is close to returning after training this week.

Arne Slot has already been dealt numerous injury blows throughout a difficult campaign, and just as his star summer signing Alexander Isak returned to full fitness from a broken leg, fellow striker Hugo Ekitike was ruled out for the season - and this summer’s World Cup - with a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

There was more positive news on Thursday for the Liverpool boss as Alisson, Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez all took part in team training, with Gomez on the bench today but still no Endo as expected.

The other absentees this weekend for Liverpool are Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni, who are both missing with serious knee injuries.

Curtis Jones continues at right-back, with Ibrahima Konate and Van Dijk the club’s only two available senior central defenders. Andy Robertson gets the nod over Milos Kerkez at left-back once more.

In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai plays alongside Alexis Mac Allister in the pivot with Florian Wirtz ahead of them as the No10 and Ryan Gravenberch on the bench.

Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah are again deployed either side of Isak in attack.

Liverpool XI: Woodman, Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo, Isak

Subs: Pecsi, Gomez, Kerkez, Chiesa, Frimpong, Gravenberch, Nyoni, Ngumoha, Wright

Injured: Ekitike, Bradley, Leoni, Mamardashvili, Alisson, Endo

Time and date: 3pm BST on Saturday April 25, 2026

Venue: Anfield, Liverpool
