Goalkeeper Eartha Cumings has described the "special" experience of representing Liverpool after battling back from a potentially devastating diagnosis in her teenage years.
The Reds' new shot-stopper signed in the summer after two impressive seasons with Charlton in the FA Women’s Championship. In her second season with the Addicks, Cumings won Charlton’s Player of the Year after keeping nine clean sheets, maintaining a run of almost 15 hours without conceding and playing a key role in the league’s second tightest defence.
The Edinburgh-born goalie progressed through the Scottish youth ranks, making her Scotland debut in February and helping her country to a penalty shootout win over Hungary. Since arriving on Merseyside, Cumings has kept two clean sheets in two starts.
