The Met Office said Liverpool should expect a sunny start to the day with cloudy spells moving in later in the afternoon. The day should be mainly dry following yesterday's storms as Hurricane Ian battered Liverpool with strong winds and heavy rain.
Today, Saturday, October 1 will be cool and blustery with sunny spells. Liverpool should expect temperature highs of around 16C throughout large parts of the afternoon.

There is a slight chance of rain this evening but showers are expected to blow through quickly on a gusty westerly breeze. Strong wind gusts reaching 34mph will make the day feel around 4C cooler than it is.
The weather across the north west will be similar with sunny spells and occasional showers. The weather overnight will see some showers linger before largely clearing leaving patchy cloud and clear spells. Winds also expected to ease through the night.
