Liverpool weather: Met Office predicts more hot days all the way to the weekend

People in Merseyside are set to bask in a third day of sunshine and warm temperatures.

The Met Office has issued a forecast of another fine and dry day, with the nice weather expected to carry on into the weekend. Today, on Thursday, March 24, the mercury will hit highs of 18C which makes Liverpool officially hotter than Barcelona.

The Spanish city is forecast a rainy few days, with temperatures hitting highs of only 14C. But here in Merseyside, parks such as Sefton Park have got sunseekers out in droves.

Yesterday dozens of people were spotted enjoying the sunshine with barbecues in Sefton Park and that's set to carry on today and into the weekend. On Friday, patchy fog will lift by mid-morning leaving a dry day with plenty of sunny spells.

Temperatures will be highs of 18C on Friday also, with dry, settled weather in most places. The outlook from Saturday to Morning is fairly the same.

There will be warm sunshine by day, over the weekend, with slightly chilly nights. It could start to become a little cooler and perhaps cloudier on Monday, but it will stay dry.

The weather is even expected to hit highs of 20C in some parts of the country over the next few days. Met Office forecaster Aidan McGivern said: "This settled spell of spring sunshine carries on for the rest of the week and beyond.

"With clear skies expected tonight temperatures will fall away and a few mist and fog patches could form in one or two spots. They will be fairly isolated and most likely in parts of eastern England for example like recent nights with temperatures dipping away as well.

"A touch of frost in places as we start off Thursday. Frost free Western Isles, parts of Northern Ireland where it will turn cloudier through the night, perhaps one or two showers into the Western Isles."
