Liverpool weather: Met Office forecasts temperatures to be hotter than Marbella

We can look forward to another spell of warm weather today as temperatures set to hit 19C in Merseyside.

Elsewhere in the country the thermometer will hit highs of 21C in the likes of Porthmadog, in North Wales. But across Merseyside, the forecast for the next few days is expected to be very warm with prolonged sunshine.

The Met Office predicts that weather in Liverpool will be better than areas of the Costa Del Sol, including Marbella. The holiday destination in southern Spain will only see highs of 16C and rain is set to fill most of the days.

Whereas in Liverpool, today on Wednesday, March 23, the forecast is mainly sunny and dry throughout the day. It's going to be feeling especially warm for this time of year, with just a gentle breeze and highs of 19C.

Overnight, clouds will clear for long periods, leading to a chilly night with some ground frost but by the morning an earl haze will clear for another fine and dry day.

On Thursday, again there will be plenty of sunshine and it will feel very warm. From Friday and into the weekend, it will be fine and settled with more warm days predicted.

There will be chilly nights, due to a lack of cloud cover. But in the day there will be plenty of sunny intervals taking us through to next week. The weather starts to look overcast into Tuesday.

BBC weather forecaster Ben Rich said: “High pressure still close by on Wednesday, it stays mostly dry and with those clear skies overhead quite a chilly start to the day with temperatures down to around freezing and below freezing in a few places.

"One or two early fog patches around too, they should tend to lift and clear by the early part of the morning and then it is another beautiful spring day with lengthy spells of sunshine and the vast majority will stay dry.

"There is just a small chance of one or two showers popping up in north east Scotland and maybe in the eastern counties of England. Not as breezy as it was on Tuesday across western areas but every bit as warm with top temperatures 16C to 20C or even 21C.”
