Tottenham have picked up their first point under Igor Tudor after earning a deserved draw away at Liverpool on Sunday. The Reds were handed a huge incentive in the race for Champions League qualification with both Chelsea and Aston Villa losing earlier in the weekend.
Meanwhile, Spurs kicked off at Anfield above the relegation zone by virtue of a superior goal difference to Nottingham Forest and West Ham after their rivals both picked up a point against Fulham and Manchester City respectively. Hopes of a result on Merseyside were somewhat boosted with Arne Slot opting to leave Hugo Ekitike and Mohamed Salah on the bench, perhaps with one eye on next week’s Champions League decider against Galatasaray.
Dominik Szoboszlai's free-kick in the first half looked to be difference between the two sides but there was a late sting in the tale as Richarlison equalised in the 89th minute to earn Spurs a draw.
