Last time the two sides met, Nottingham Forest surprised Liverpool with a win at the City Ground and the Reds will be keen to avoid a league double defeat against Steve Cooper's side when they welcome them to Anfield. Jurgen Klopp's side certainly sent out a message that they are still in the mix for European qualification when they thrashed Leeds United at Elland Road on Monday and the German head coach will be hoping for more of the same this weekend.
The Reds are the unsurprising favourites at 1/7 with Betfred while Forest are a distant 16/1 to produce a shock and a draw is 13/2. The hosts have never lost against Forest at Anfield in their last 23 home league games winning 18 times and drawing five times since losing 2-0 back in February 1969.
Inconsistency has been the theme of Liverpool's season at the moment and have picked up defeats against Bournemouth, Brentford and Wolves but a win will see them overtake Aston Villa in sixth if results go there way and force Brighton & Hove Albion down a place as they are in FA Cup action this weekend.
