Liverpool thrashed Brighton and Hove Albion 3-0 to move into the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening. Curtis Jones, playing at right-back, opened the scoring in the first half before Dominik Szoboszlai doubled the advantage after the interval. Mohamed Salah picked himself up off the floor after being felled by Pascal Gross in the box to score the resulting penalty and send the Reds into the last 16.
Arne Slot’s side are dealing with a crisis at right-back, with Jones deployed there after Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley were ruled out with long-term injuries. Szoboszlai, who has also played in that position, returned to the side after his suspension, but played in midfield alongside Alexis Mac Allister.
The Reds completed a perfect week, securing a second win in seven days after their 1-0 victory over Sunderland in midweek. They now turn their attentions back to their Champions League pursuit in the Premier League, facing Nottingham Forest next. They visit the City Ground next weekend, before an encounter with West Ham back on Merseyside.

Team news coming up...
18:42 , Oli Gent20 minute warning...
Who might play at right-back?
18:26 , Oli GentArne Slot is in the midst of a real injury crisis at right full-back at the moment.
Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley, the two natural options, are both sidelined long term.
Wataru Endo, who deputised in that position against Sunderland, was stretchered off on Wearside.
Dominik Szoboszlai returns from suspension today, and Joe Gomez is back from his own injury struggle.
But who might play?

Standard Sport prediction
17:58 , Oli GentLiverpool are far from consistent at the moment, though Brighton are trending downwards in a startlingly linear fashion.
The Seagulls were thoroughly uninspired in defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday, and will face a tougher opponent tonight. Do not expect them to offer much response.
Liverpool to win, 2-0.
Brighton team news
17:51 , Oli GentMeanwhile for Brighton, the game comes too soon for Yasin Ayari, though he is making good progress from a shoulder issue.
Mats Wieffer is available for selection, while Solly March, Adam Webster and Stafanos Tzimas are all facing extended spells on the sidelines.
Liverpool team news
17:44 , Oli GentLiverpool will certainly be without Wataru Endo after he was stretchered off in agony in the Sunderland match.
Arne Slot confirmed the worst news possible in the pre-match press conference, saying: “We still need to do some assessment but it is clear and obvious that he will be out for quite a long time.
“He is a good centre-back and midfielder as well. In those positions, we are quite vulnerable over there as well if something happens.”
Joe Gomez came on in his place, himself returning from his latest lay-off, and may be handed a start against the Seagulls.
Dominik Szoboszlai will be available after serving a one-match suspension in midweek, but Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are all absent.
