That’s all from me! I’ll leave you with Tom Garry’s match report. Thanks for joining me, have a great day!

Liverpool manager Matt Beard tells BBC Sport: “There are positives to take but obviously we have to cut out the little errors that led to their goals. Second half we posed a lot of threat, pressed them well and caused them problems. We started the game brightly as well.

“The biggest thing is that you don’t get many chances against the top, top sides and you need to get your shots off. Smithy and Kiernan twice had chances in the first half where they tried to cut inside when they could have hit it earlier.

“Chelsea are a top, top side, and if you give them opportunities like we did today then you are going to get punished.”

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor tells BBC Sport: “I’m really happy with the performance. We’re keeping our good dynamic at the moment. We started a little bit slower than usual, but if you look at all the picture we controlled the game and were efficient in the right moments.

“Every game is important, every game is three points. For the players we are back to a rhythm where we are at three games a week.”

Chelsea defender Millie Bright tells BBC Sport: “It’s massive. When you come to a stadium and you don’t get that win over the years it’s in the back of your mind. It eats away at you. But our mentality is to win every single game. A good performance and a good win.

“We’re just loving being out on the pitch, we’ve got a great confidence. We’ve been more confident in possession, being brave. You can see that from the girls’ performance.

“The amount of changes that we’ve had in our environment has been a lot. But the transition has been seamless. It shows the people we have, the culture we have created. Everyone is just thriving in this environment.”

Here’s Tom Garry’s match report from St Helens…

Sonia Bompastor has become the first WSL manager to win each of their first four away games.

Full-time: Liverpool 0-3 Chelsea

It’s three goals and another three points for Chelsea. Six games, six wins. The perfect start continues!

90+2 min: Sonia Bompastor makes her final change of the match, with Oriane Jean-François replacing Reiten.

Four minutes have been added on, two left to play.

90+1 min: Ramírez makes a powerful run down the left before squaring the ball across to Kaptein in the box. The midfielder goes for goal but scuffs her shot. However, it falls straight to the feet of Beever-Jones who scores with a tap-in from just a few yards out.

GOAL! Liverpool 0-3 Chelsea (Aggie Beever-Jones, 90)

Super-sub Beever-Jones makes it three!

Updated

88 min: Hinds shoves Ramírez off the pitch as Chelsea look to break forward, leaving Sonia Bompastor furious! The striker wipes out the fourth official, but the referee gives nothing.

86 min: Nüsken is shown a yellow card for a tug on Holland and Liverpool have a free kick just in front of the halfway line.

83 min: Another substitution – for Liverpool this time. Höbinger is replaced by Cornelia Kapocs with around seven minutes left to play.

80 min: A double change for Chelsea now as Hamano is replaced by Catarina Macario and Cuthbert makes way for Wieke Kaptein.

77 min: Liverpool’s momentum has faded in the last 10 minutes or so. They haven’t really tested Hampton too much and Chelsea look comfortable as we approach the final stages of the match.

Here’s Tom Garry’s take on the attendance at St Helens Stadium this afternoon…

73 min: Cuthbert is booked for a challenge on Enderby and Liverpool have a free kick in midfield.

72 min: Liverpool make a double change, with Yana Daniëls replacing Fisk and Hannah Silcock on for Matthews.

71 min: Cuthbert fires a powerful strike towards goal and forces a strong save from Laws, but nothing comes of the resulting corner.

Updated

68 min: Another substitution – this time for Chelsea. Kaneryd is replaced by Aggie Beever-Jones, who looks to have moved out onto the right.

66 min: First substitution for Liverpool as Kiernan is replaced by Mia Enderby. The hosts need the fresh legs in attack as they look to play direct in a desperate attempt to get back into this game.

63 min: Liverpool have been piling on the pressure in the last 13 minutes. Höbinger receives the ball in midfield and looks to play forward but is caught out by Nüsken. Chelsea instantly turn possession around and can make the most of the gaps left in Liverpool’s defence. Hamano eventually finds herself in front of goal but can’t make the most of her chance.

60 min: Liverpool have a free kick following a foul on Höbinger from Ramírez. Höbinger sends the ball into the box and Bright heads it clear, but it falls to Hinds. The wing-back goes for goal and forces a save from Hampton.

56 min: Holland wins the ball from Nüsken in midfield and plays it through to Kiernan, who is marginally offside. Much better from Liverpool. The hosts have looked the more threatening of the two teams so far in this second half.

55 min: Fisk attempts to play Smith through the middle, but Buchanan puts a stop to the attack with ease.

52 min: Liverpool are attacking in numbers as they look to get back into the match, but Chelsea still look fairly comfortable.

49 min: Liverpool have a free kick on the right following a challenge on Kiernan from Bright. Höbinger sends it into the box, but Chelsea can clear the threat.

47 min: A positive start to this second half from Liverpool. The hosts work their way into the box as Kiernan sets the ball to Hinds. The wing-back goes for goal but fires her effort over the crossbar.

Kick-off: Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea get us under way for the second half. The visitors made one change at the break with Ashley Lawrence replacing Bronze, who appeared to pick up a knock just before half-time.

Half-time: Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea’s patience certainly paid off towards the end of that first half. Liverpool started well and looked threatening in attack for much of the opening 20 minutes, but two goals in quick succession have proved to be a huge blow.

Updated

45 min: Smith is booked for a challenge on Bronze and Chelsea have a free kick. Three minutes have been added on to the end of this half.

42 min: Laws attempts to play the ball out from the back but passes it straight to Reiten, who makes no mistake in taking advantage of the empty net with a composed effort.

GOAL! Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea (Guro Reiten, 41)

A real sucker punch for Liverpool – a huge mistake from Laws gifts Chelsea a two-goal lead!

Updated

38 min: Kaneryd goes for goal but her effort rattles the crossbar and bounces out to Reiten. The midfielder then has her own attempt at the target, but Bonner makes the block. Unfortunately for the defender, the ball deflects straight to the feet of Ramírez, who simply taps her shot into the net. A valiant effort from Liverpool, but there’s no stopping the Chelsea striker in that position.

GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Chelsea (Mayra Ramírez, 37)

Ramírez breaks the deadlock for the visitors!

Updated

34 min: Reiten steps up to take the free kick and fires a cross into the box. Bronze makes an attempt to go for goal, but Holland gets in front to head the ball behind for a corner. Nothing comes of the subsequent set-piece.

33 min: Evans is booked for a clumsy challenge on Kaneryd and Chelsea have a free kick in a dangerous position.

31 min: What a save! Reiten sends a low-driven cross straight into the danger zone. Kaneryd is there at the back post and goes for goal with her first touch, but Laws makes it across to make the save.

29 min: Another Liverpool free kick is wasted as Höbinger’s cross flies straight into the hands of Hampton.

26 min: The hosts break forward and Holland sends a cross in from the left. Fisk goes for goal at the back post but Baltimore gets just in front to make the clearance.

25 min: Chelsea have a corner. The ball is sent straight into the box and Nüsken goes for a header, but Kiernan deflects it away. Fisk eventually makes the final clearance and Liverpool go on the attack.

22 min: Liverpool waste a free kick on the right as Baltimore fires the ball away from danger following a poor pass into the box.

19 min: These two teams have approached this match with two different styles of play. Liverpool have been looking to play direct to Smith and Kiernan in attack, while Chelsea have been patient by going through the middle at every opportunity. It’s been an interesting game so far – we just need some goals now!

17 min: Another chance for the visitors as Baltimore receives the ball on the left and fires a shot directly at Laws, who can parry it away.

15 min: Chelsea look to play forward again as the ball falls to Reiten just outside the box, who looks to make a cross, but Bonner is there to clear the danger again.

12 min: A fantastic pass is sent over the Chelsea defence and through to Kiernan. The forward looks to make a run towards goal but she is forced out wide by Bright and the visitors can nullify the attack.

9 min: Another chance for the visitors as Reiten sends a curling cross in from the right. It runs all the way through to the back post and almost sneaks into the net, but Bonner can make the clearance.

8 min: The ball is sent out wide to Kaneryd on the right, who plays it short to Hamano in the middle. The forward goes for goal but her effort is saved by Laws.

6 min: What a start! Both teams have had a glimpse at goal in the opening five minutes. Surely it’s only a matter of time before the deadlock is broken…

Updated

3 min: Chelsea’s clearance goes straight through to Ramírez, who looks to attack the Liverpool net, but Bonner does enough to block her effort.

2 min: Liverpool have a corner and the ball is sent straight into the box. It falls to the feet of Hinds, who goes for goal, but her effort is blocked and it runs out for another corner.

The second set piece, however, is cleared by Chelsea.

1 min: Smith makes a run down the right and into the Chelsea penalty area. She goes to square the ball across goal, but Buchanan deflects it behind for a corner.

Kick-off

We’re under way at St Helens Stadium!

The teams are out at St Helens Stadium. A period of silence will be observed before kick-off to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Ahead of this afternoon’s huge clash with Liverpool, Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor said: “I know Liverpool always find a way to perform against Chelsea. We are prepared for that. From Liverpool’s performances and results from the beginning of the season, I’m expecting a team who is really organised.

“They don’t concede a lot of goals. They will be ready to face us on Sunday, and we will also be focusing on ourselves with the quality of talent in my squad.”

Updated

In-form Chelsea forward Johanna Rytting Kaneryd spoke to Suzanne Wrack ahead of today’s match about the season so far and her ultimate “nightmare” – the idea of becoming a predictable player.

Liverpool manager Matt Beard has insisted his team will be playing to win this afternoon. In his programme notes ahead of the match, he wrote: “Chelsea have had a fine start to the season and Sonia Bompastor has come in and done a good job because it was always going to be tough for whoever replaced Emma Hayes.

“If you look at the two squads that Manchester City and Chelsea have, they’ve probably got two XIs that could play and compete for the top three in the WSL. I think if Chelsea put out two XIs they could possibly be placed one and two.

“Even so, we’ve beaten them at home in each of the last two seasons and while, as always, we’ll always respect our opponent, we’re going to be playing to win the game and I do feel that we perform well against the top sides. It’s a game that we’re looking forward to and it’s another opportunity to test ourselves.”

This weekend in the WSL

Arsenal stormed to their biggest WSL victory of the season on Friday with a 5-0 win over Brighton. Meanwhile, Khadija Shaw scored a hat-trick as Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 win over Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium.

Today, Liverpool and Chelsea kick off proceedings at St Helens Stadium before Everton travel to Crystal Palace, West Ham take on Leicester City and Manchester United face Aston Villa.

Preamble

Hello and welcome to coverage of today’s WSL clash between Liverpool and Chelsea. The last meeting between these two teams was nothing short of thrilling. Against the odds, Liverpool clinched a dramatic 4-3 victory over the reigning league champions at Prenton Park. It was a huge moment in the WSL title race – even though Chelsea went on to lift the trophy on the final day.

This time, however, the circumstances are slightly different. Liverpool have dropped points on four separate occasions so far this season, leaving them sixth in the table. Meanwhile, Chelsea have maintained a perfect record. A win will take Sonia Bompastor’s side to within one point of title rivals City with a game in hand.
