Former Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek believes Mohamed Salah can thrive in a 'new position' for the Reds after the 7-1 rout against Rangers.
The Egyptian King came off the bench to slot a quickfire second-half hat-trick on Wednesday evening. He plundered all three goals in a devastating six-minute spell.
Ex-Anfield star Dudek has given his take on Liverpool's problems so far this term - and why enlivening Salah could help solve them.

Speaking to journalist Ismael Mahmoud, Dudek said: "Salah is a very important player for Liverpool. I saw his new position against Rangers as a striker, and he seems to like that position - on the side of the pitch he was not 100% motivated. He plays as the whole Liverpool team plays this season, they don't look their best.
"But I hope that game against Rangers will help them add more fun, energy and form, because that is what Salah needs and the team needs."
Dudek added: "It's not just Mo Salah who is suffering with drop of performance, but the whole team. For many years they've been at the top - they need time, they need to work hard, they need to believe that the form they were playing with, that fitness and performance, can come back.
"I hope they come back against Manchester City, because that match will be the first step towards getting things back on track."
Dudek, who is predicting a 2-2 draw in this afternoon's crunch clash with Pep Guardiola's men, also gave his thoughts on Darwin Nunez's start to life at Liverpool.
He said: "Nunez is a great player, a great striker. But I think the Premier League is a very difficult league for players who don't speak English at the beginning. I think he needs time to adapt, he has a lot of friends who speak Spanish and I think they will help him feel at home.
"I think that the red card he got at the beginning of the season led to him not providing 100% of his level so far with the team, the same for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Salah, they just need time to return to their usual performance."
