After looking like they would complete the January transfer window without a signing, Liverpool sprung into action to land Luis Diaz on Sunday.
The Reds had initially appeared happy to keep their transfer funds for the summer, but after catching wind of Tottenham ’s interest in the Porto winger they moved fast.
Liverpool have signed the 25-year-old on a five-year contract for an initial fee of £37.5million, which could rise to £50m with performance-related add-ons.
Diaz appears to be a huge signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but it seem they are not done yet as Monday’s 11pm deadline looms.
Here are the latest Liverpool transfer rumours as we enter the final day of the January transfer window.
Bissouma transfer battle
Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma , but it appears as though they might miss out on the midfielder.
Reports in France suggest that Liverpool are out of the running for the 25-year-old, with Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United fighting it out for his signature.
Negotiations have been described as ‘intense’ with Brighton hoping to get £37m (€45m), due to the fact Bissouma is under contract until June 2024.
Whether one of the Premier League sides can get a deal over the line before tonight’s deadline remains to be seen. Perhaps a move in the summer is more likely.
Liverpool ‘bid £5m for Carvalho’
Diaz might not be Liverpool’s only signing of the January transfer window, with efforts to sign Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho ongoing .
Fulham are desperate to keep hold of the 19-year-old attacking midfielder, but the fact he is out of contract in July has attracted Liverpool to the possibility of completing a deal this month.
According to the Daily Mail , the Reds have submitted an official bid of £5m for the England Under-18 international.
The Athletic reports that they would be willing to agree to a loan-back deal, whereby Fulham keep him until the end of the season for their Championship promotion push.
"Fabio will be with us until the end of the season,” Fulham boss Marco Silva said recently. "I would like to see him here for more years.”
Liverpool signed Harvey Elliott from Fulham when he was just 16 years old in 2019 and sold Harry Wilson to the London club last summer for £12m.

No bids yet for Phillips
Liverpool are reportedly willing to sell Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Nat Phillips after splashing the cash on Diaz.
Minamino has only made six starts in all competitions so far this season, Origi is out of contract this summer and Phillips is well down the pecking order at centre-back.
There has been interest in all three players this month, but the most likely departure before the window closes is Phillips.
The 24-year-old defender is valued at £15m by Liverpool, according to The Athletic , but no club has been willing to stump up the cash yet.
Watford saw an offer of an initial loan with an obligation to buy for £7m if they stayed up rejected and the likes of Burnley and Newcastle are yet to make their interest concrete.
