There is now just three weeks to go until the January transfer window opens and Liverpool already appear to be at work attempting to get deals over the line.
Jude Bellingham is among those to have been linked with a winter switch to Anfield next month but at this stage, a deal looks tricky to facilitate with Borussia Dortmund set to command a premium for his signature. That has forced Liverpool to look elsewhere for cheaper alternatives and it appears that a number of names have already been added to their shortlist.
Find out who are the latest to have been linked with a winter switch to Liverpool ahead of the transfer window opening in just a matter of weeks’ time:
Liverpool ‘open’ Fernandez talks
Whilst Bellingham has been catching the eye at the World Cup in Qatar, the same can certainly be said of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez. As per Record, the Reds have already opened talks with the latter’s employers Benfica over a potential move.
It remains to been whether the Portuguese giants would entertain a sale for the 21-year-old considering he only arrived at the club in the summer from River Plate. He has made 24 appearances for Benfica since.
That form has helped Fernandez to a place in the Argentinian set-up and he assisted his nation in reaching the World Cup semi-finals with victory over the Netherlands. He is under contract at the Estadio da Luz until 2027.

Musah move disapproved
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has suggested that American midfielder Yunus Musah is not yet ready for a switch to Anfield with the Reds having been linked with a swoop for his services.
As quoted by ESPN, he said: “Not yet [Musah is not ready]
“I mean he has had a good World Cup as far as the dirty side of the game, the running, the challenging, the winning the ball back. You could argue that Liverpool’s best team, they had three guys in the middle of the park that were really good at that. But no, I don't think he’s close to Liverpool yet.”
Reds renew Sander Berge interest
Sticking with the theme of central midfielders, long-term target Sander Berge could potentially finally move to Anfield next month. The Norwegian has long been linked with Liverpool following his impressive displays for Sheffield United.
As per Jeunes Footeux, the Reds are interested once more and could potentially make an effort to secure his services in the winter window. It is said that Berge is open to leaving Bramall Lane with Chelsea also apparently eyeing a swoop should a winter transfer be feasible.
