Bleak Karim Adeyemi update
Liverpool look set to miss out on signing Karim Adeyemi after Borussia Dortmund made a decisive move in the race for the Red Bull Salzburg star.
Adeyemi has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in Europe this season and has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all monitored the 20-year-old striker, while RB Leipzig, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked, but Dortmund are now poised to sign the Germany international.
According to Sky Sports Germany, the German club have everything agreed with Adeyemi’s camp and just need to negotiate a transfer fee with Salzburg, with the deal ‘taking shape’.
Salzburg are holding out for a fee between £25million (€30m) and £33m (€40m) for the striker and have begun talks with Dortmund.
Fabio Carvalho deal takes shape
Liverpool are shaping up a deal to prise Fulham ace Carvalho, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Reds sporting director Michael Edwards, a specialist in knocking down prices of top players, has taken up a keen role in the operation.
According to The Athletic, the club are monitoring the situation closely and are priming for a late bid for the Cottagers youngster before the end of the transfer window.
However, what appears more likely is that the Anfield outfit will be head of the queue in the summer and land the attacking midfielder for nothing - when his contract expires.
It outs the ball in Fulham’s court over whether to cash in now or lose the 19-year-old for free.
Cody Gakpo talks held
Liverpool have held discussions with PSV Eindhoven over the signing of Gakpo, who has also caught the attention of Manchester City.
The 22-year-old has scored six goals and grabbed 10 assists in 14 league starts in the Eredivisie, emerging as one of the top talents in Netherlands.
According to Voetbal International, interest has grown in the forward and PSV have privately admitted they might have to sell this summer.
A short-term contract is set to be drawn up to boost his value with Liverpool and City among those holding talks with the player and his representatives.
The Reds are looking to the future with Salah, Mane and Roberto Firmino all in their 30s while the former has had contract trouble in recent months.
