Liverpool transfer round-up: Henderson's stance on mega-money Saudi move as Colwill targeted

Liverpool have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs in this summer's transfer window and the Reds aren't showing any signs of slowing down.

Having completed the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in time for their full pre-season campaign, Jurgen Klopp could further evolve his midfield with a significant departure: captain Jordan Henderson. The long-serving skipper, who still has two more years left on his Liverpool contract, has a lucrative offer courtesy of Steven Gerrard's new team in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ettifaq.

Henderson's midfield team-mate, Thiago Alcantara, could also be leaving for the Middle East, while the door at Anfield stays wide open for new arrivals. Levi Colwill is a name who'll interest Reds fans, but Klopp and co face a battle to sign him.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Henderson leaning towards Saudi move

Jordan Henderson is leaning towards leaving Liverpool and reuniting with Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia, the Athletic claim. Al-Ettifaq, who Gerrard recently took charge of as manager, have tabled an eye-water proposal which would see the England international more than quadruple his wages and earn £700,000 per week.

Henderson, 33, has a deal on Merseyside which keeps him at the club until 2025. Liverpool chiefs are now set to hold talks with their midfield general, who's been at Anfield for 12 seasons and succeeded Gerrard as captain in 2015.

Liverpool to make Colwill move

Liverpool are ready to go to war with Brighton in the race to sign Chelsea wonderkid Levi Colwill, according to TalkSPORT. The highly-rated centre-back recently lifted the under-21 European Championships with England, having impressed during his loan spell with Brighton last season.

Colwill's assured displays - which led to England not conceding a single goal throughout the tournament - have seen his stock increase and prompted Brighton to make a £30million bid which was firmly rejected by Chelsea, who've offered him a bumper new contract. The 20-year-old left-footer is set to hold talks with boss Mauricio Pochettino once he returns from his holiday.

Reds in pole position to land Schuurs

Liverpool lead the chase for Dutch defender Perr Schuurs, whose exit from Torino is described as a matter of when not if. Tuttosport, via Voetbal International, report that the Reds are best placed to sign Schuurs, 23, amid interest from Premier League rivals West Ham and Crystal Palace.

It's also suggested that a €40m (£34m) fee would be enough to prise the Ajax academic graduate away from Turin. Schuurs is even said to have prepared his farewells.
