Liverpool have been backed to be busy in the January transfer window as Jurgen Klopp attempts to get the Reds back on form.
The Merseysiders endured a poor start to the campaign ahead of the enforced break for the World Cup and find themselves 15 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. A number of names have been linked with making a winter switch to Anfield, including Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat, while England sensation Jude Bellingham and is also on Liverpool's radar.
Fresh developments appear to be coming out regarding the duo each day, so take a look at where any potential deals stand with just a few weeks remaining until the January transfer window opens.
Fiorentina refuse to sell Amrabat
Although Liverpool are reportedly targeting Morocco midfielder Amrabat, the Reds could find it difficult to seal his signature as Fiorentina have made the decision not to sell.
That is according to Fiorentina.it, who suggest that the club are not keen on selling one of their key players midway through the campaign. He is under contract until the summer of 2024 but they retain an option to extend his deal by a further year.
Whilst a move has been ruled out, it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina’s stance would change should bids come in from Liverpool or any other interested parties, such as Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.

Reds eye Lozano swoop
From one Serie A star to another, Liverpool are reportedly in the running for Napoli forward Hirving Lozano. As per Gazzetta dello Sport, via Napoli Magazine, the Italian club are not willing to renew his contract due to his huge wages.
It is suggested that a sale could be possible as Napoli attempt to recoup as much of the £36million they paid to sign him from PSV Eindhoven as possible. Liverpool could potentially be at the front of the queue to sign the Mexican having been linked with a swoop in the past.
Nehaus ‘opens’ contract talks
Another previous Reds target, Florian Nehaus appears unlikely to move to Anfield any time soon, with Borussia Monchengladbach opening talks with the midfielder regarding a new contract.
The German’s deal expires in the summer of 2024 and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga side have already begun early discussions to extend his stay at the club.
Nehaus, 25, has been with Gladbach since a 2017 switch from 1860 Munich and has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club since, whilst also earning international recognition for Germany.
