Liverpool's search for a new midfielder is in full swing ahead of the January transfer window.
The winter is known for its difficulty when it comes to recruitment, so it seems far more likely that the Merseysiders will make moves in the summer. The World Cup has put several names in the shop window at a unique time of the year, but Jurgen Klopp has always been measured in his approach.
Liverpool opted against signing a new face in the middle of the park several months ago, instead opting to take Arthur from Juventus on loan. However their slow start to the season has furthered the need to make additions - with Jude Bellingham thought to be top of their wishlist.
These are the latest rumours coming out of Anfield.
Bellingham comments fuel rumours
Bellingham played another starring role for England in their win over Wales – and his post-match comments will be music to the ears of Liverpool supporters.
Bellingham put in another storming performance in midfield for Gareth Southgate’s side, who qualified for the last 16 of the World Cup with a 3-0 win over Wales on Tuesday night. The 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star was influential in the middle of the pitch once again after starting for the third successive game.
"We had our high energy today," he told the BBC. "With the game the other day we maybe realised we weren't aggressive enough, a little too passive, so it's important to be on the front foot.
"Hendo brings that intensity every time he plays and when he gives you that confidence to go and press, I can push on and Dec can be aggressive. We won a lot of balls high up the pitch, which was key to us retaining the pressure and keeping them under."
Reds set to lose out in Laimer race
Liverpool look set to lose out in the race for RB Leipzig 's Konrad Laimer, who has his sights set on a move to Bayern Munich.
The midfielder is the latest man to be identified by those at Anfield as they eye reinforcements in the middle of the park. The Reds made enquiries in the latter stages of the summer with the player's contract running out at the end of the current campaign.
Leipzig had looked to tie Laimer down to an improved deal, but the Austrian has no desire to extend his stay with the Red Bull outfit and can sign a pre-contract come January. Bayern have put an offer, that lasts until 2027, on the table as Julian Nagelsmann looks to raid his former side once more.
Liverpool were also joined by Chelsea in the transfer race, but it looks as if both teams will miss out. Laimer did say “nothing has been decided" when quizzed on his future recently, but it looks increasingly likely that a switch to Bavaria will occur, as per Sky in Germany.
Amrabat pay bump to lure Morocco star
Liverpool are looking to lure Sofyan Amrabat to the Premier League by offering him a major pay packet.
The Fiorentina midfielder has caught the eye with his performances at the World Cup with Morocco. The African nation, who beat Belgium at the weekend, are eyeing a knockout spot and Amrabat is putting himself firmly in the shop window ahead of the January market.
The 26-year-old only earns €1.8million-a-year (£1.56m) in Florence and could receive substantially more if he were to move to Anfield. Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim a pay increase could turn Amrabat's head whilst they also highlight the Champions League football on offer at Liverpool
