Liverpool tractor convoy 2022: route, map and live stream

A dazzling tractor convoy returns to Liverpool ahead of Christmas 2022.

Dozens of tractors decorated with sparkling lights will travel around the city spreading Christmas cheer and raising important funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. Last year, hundreds of onlookers turned out to watch the procession of giant vehicles, decked out with snowmen, reindeer and fairy lights. The event returns again today, Sunday, December 18.

The Christmas Tractor Run is organised by local farmer Olly Harrison, who was inspired by a similar event on the Isle of Man. This will be the third year it has taken place in Liverpool, having previously raised tens of thousands of pounds for Alder Hey.

He said: “Last year we raised £65,000 and this year we want to raise more than that, so let’s see if we can get to £100,000. We’re also going to do a food bank drop at Stanley Park, for fans supporting food banks.”

Liverpool tractor convoy route and map

The procession is due to set off at 6pm heading first to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, then initially take the exact same route as last year to Stanley Park. From there the convoy will take a slightly different route, arriving into Liverpool city centre on the Strand from the Liver Building end and leaving in the direction of the Women’s Hospital.

The route will then take in Wavertree, the Childwall Fiveways, Mather Avenue before heading back towards Hunts Cross. This is the map of the route:

The estimated timings for the route are as follows but could be up to 20 minutes out:

Alder hey at 6.45pm

Stanley Park at 7.15pm

Strand at 7.45pm

Childwall Fiveways at 8.15pm

Springwood at 8.45pm

The overall route is expected to take around an hour less than in previous years. This year, Olly has confirmed that people will be able to follow where the convoy is up to on a live stream.

In previous years he has shared updates using his phone along the way, but this year there will be a team back at the farm running the live stream, so people can follow exactly where it's up to, and how long they have to wait until it reaches them. You will be able to access the live stream here.

Liverpool tractor convoy quiet zones

On this year's charity Christmas run there will be two 'quiet zones', for children viewing who don’t like loud horns. One will be as the convoy leaves Stanley park and travels down hill to Goodison. The other will be as it heads through Springwood cemetery.

How to make a donation: People wanting to make a donation can do so on the Festive Farmers Just Giving page or by texting TRACTOR to 70450. Money raised goes to Alder Hey Children's Charity, which funds life-saving equipment and research to help patients and families across the UK.
