Prominent Liverpool supporters group Spirit of Shankly has called on the club to reverse its policy of making fans collect tickets for European away games in the country they are travelling to.
The Reds will learn of their opponents in the Champions League group stages later today, when UEFA conduct the full group stage draw for this season's competition.
Prior to the draw taking place, the club has published a message on social media stating their intentions for ticket distribution during the competition.

A Tweet from the account @lfchelp said: "Ahead of today’s Champions League draw, we would like to remind fans that we will continue with ticket collections for all European away games. A fan forum is planned tomorrow to shape this process and we will provide full details on the ticket selling notice for each game."
But the announcement has been met with questions from plenty of individual supporters and fans groups - including Spirit of Shankly, who were quick to issue a response. Their official account tweeted: "We haven’t been consulted on this and oppose ticket collections in Europe - not a great start a week after the Supporters Board was announced - this decision needs to be reversed!"
Sprit of Shankly's chairperson, Joe Blott - who is also the newly-elected chair of the Liverpool Supporters Board - added: "To be clear, the Supporters Board has had no consultation with LFC on this issue. The Board was confirmed last week with @LFC but no working structures have been created. However, in the interim, we would expect to be consulted on strategic decisions such as this."
The policy of collecting tickets for Liverpool European away matches from a determined pick-up point in the host country has proven unpopular with travelling supporters in previous seasons. Fans have complained about experiencing significant queue times and the necessity to be in a specific location at a specific time has created logistical difficulties for fans who have planned out their costly trips in advance.
Last week Liverpool announced that they had created a new Supporters Board, primarily for fan representation and consolation on strategic issues. Members of the board include 10 Spirit of Shankly committee members, plus six other representatives drawn from other fan organisations.
