Liverpool sporting director Hughes steps down after transfer window

Liverpool Richard Hughes Juergen Klopp Arne Slot EPL UEFA Champions League

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes has stepped down from his role ​after a two-year stint, the ​club said on Saturday, ending a short tenure in ​which he oversaw the difficult transition after the departure of former manager Juergen Klopp.

Hughes, who joined Liverpool from Bournemouth, informed the club's ownership of his desire to seek a ‌new challenge after ⁠delivering ⁠the 2024-25 league title and Champions League qualification the following season.
