Liverpool signing who left Gary Neville 'utterly depressed' might be about to inflict more misery on Manchester United

With Liverpool struggling for centre-forwards who are fit or available, they could benefit from other players contributing on the goals front. Jurgen Klopp spoke about helping Luis Diaz score more in his press conference ahead of the recent match with Crystal Palace.

"You see the situations he had, big chances, and he was just unlucky,” Klopp said, later adding: “he just needs one goal and then we will go from there." That goal occurred against the Eagles, so hopefully Diaz can now set off on a scoring streak.

The Colombian struck from 21-yards out, arcing the ball past the dive of Vicente Guaita and into the corner of the Kop end net. Per Fotmob, Diaz turned an opportunity valued at just 0.04 expected goals into one worth 0.42 once finishing was applied. It wasn’t a clear-cut chance, but he effectively made it one, so perfect was his shot.
