Liverpool have been told of the ‘only concern’ over signing Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.
The Reds are exploring the possibility of signing the Brazil international on loan for the remainder of the season. The ECHO understands that the Reds are looking at a deal to sign Arthur, following the injury problems in midfield.
While interested in a potential deal for Arthur, Liverpool are continuing to assess other ways of bolstering their midfield options before the deadline. Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz is another player who has been linked with a move to Anfield on deadline day, with Arsenal also said to be interested.

Jordan Henderson suffered a muscle injury during Liverpool’s win over Newcastle United on Wednesday night. He joins the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita on the sidelines, while Curtis Jones has only just returned to fitness.
Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague has provided his verdict on Arthur’s possible move to Liverpool, and expressed his “only concern” with the deal. He went on to say that the player is ‘100 percent physically well’, amid claims that the midfielder is currently injured.
“I used to accuse Arthur of being a little bit too conservative during his time at Barcelona, but it wasn’t all his fault,” said Balague, in a video he posted on Twitter.
“It wasn’t the Barcelona that moved a lot without the ball, and often Arthur gave conservative passes, not so many through passes that he was there for. Now at Juventus it didn’t really work, because the system of Allegri just didn’t suit him.
“He feels not only now that he’s 100 percent physically well, he feels he could adapt to the Premier League quickly. That’s something that we’ll have to see, because the pace of the Premier League is completely different to Serie A.
“But he also reckons that Klopp will understand his game a lot more than Allegri, so the player is really looking forward to coming to Liverpool. The proof of that is Thiago. He took a while to take off, but eventually it did, and as we know made a big impact.
“So a great addition, original thinking from Liverpool to get him. My only concern is how long it will take him to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.”
Liverpool have until 11pm tonight to formally complete any deals before the transfer window slams shut.
