Liverpool scrap controversial ticket pricing plans after Anfield protests

  • Liverpool FC has scrapped its controversial three-year plan for ticket price increases following fan protests.
  • The initial plan, announced in March, proposed a three per cent rise next season and further increases in line with inflation for the subsequent two campaigns.
  • Fans staged protests during Premier League home games against Fulham and Crystal Palace in response to the policy.
  • While a three per cent inflationary increase for general admission tickets will still apply next season, the club has now promised a price freeze for the following campaign.
  • Both the club and the Supporters Board are committed to exploring longer-term solutions to address affordability and accessibility, aiming to avoid future ticket price increases.
