Liverpool Santa Dash 2022 route and start time

Liverpool's Santa Dash is officially on its way back for its 19th year.

Runners will take to the city's streets dressed as Father Christmas in red and blue Santa suits this weekend. The Liverpool Santa Dash has become a festive tradition for many and is the biggest and longest established Santa Run in the UK.

In its second year in 2005, the event achieved Guinness World Record status for the Biggest Santa Gathering. The 5K fun run is suitable for all abilities and takes runners around the streets of Liverpool city centre.

The BTR Liverpool Santa Dash 2022 is sponsored by Park Christmas Savings, part of Liverpool-based Appreciate Group. The official charity partner is Alder Hey Children's Charity’s Surgical Neonatal Appeal.

To claim complimentary bus travel to or from the city centre, Santas must be wearing their Santa suit and race number in the morning, or their Santa suit and medal when travelling home afterwards. Here's everything you need to know about Liverpool Santa Dash 2022.

When is the Liverpool Santa Dash 2022 and start time?

Liverpool Santa Dash takes place on Sunday, December 4 with the race starting at 9.30am. The One Mile Mini Dash starts at approximately 11am.

Liverpool Santa Dash route

The Liverpool Santa Dash 2022 will start at the Pier Head in front of the Liver Building. The 5K route flows through the city centre passing through the Royal Albert Dock and back along the main waterfront roads.

The runners will follow a route along the following roads before finishing at the Town Hall in Dale Street - Salthouse Quay, Gower Street, Wapping, Strand Street, James Street, Lord Street, North John Street,

Victoria Street, Stanley Street, Dale Street, Vauxhall Road, Leeds Street, Old Hall Street, Union Street, Rumford Place, Tithebarn Street, Moorfields and Dale Street.

Runners will then turn into the tightly packed streets to finish in front of the Town Hall. They'll be greeted with giant Christmas characters and a flurry of snow on the finish line.
