Married at First Sight UK’s Adrian Sanderson is still on the hunt for love.
The 37-year-old from Huyton was paired up with Thomas Hartley on the latest season of the E4 programme . The two Scousers were fan favourites after viewers watched the couple overcome a rocky start to become one of the most popular couples in the latest season.
They navigated a rollercoaster relationship and agreed to stay at the final commitment ceremony. However, questions remained over whether there was a romantic spark between the two. This came to a head at the final dinner party when the two tearfully decided to end their marriage and exit the show. Adrian issued his verdict on the split as he said the break-up "needed to happen”.

Since the show has ended, Adrian has been asked out on dates by other potential suitors but he remains unsure if he is ready for another relationship right now. He told the ECHO : “Me and Thomas had the most amazing journey and for that, I will always have a special place for him…I am still looking for love. I don’t need it to arrive right now, life is good and I’ve got tons of love in it.
"But yeah the dream is still the same, I want a husband. I’ve just been asked out on a date actually, I haven’t given my answer yet, so we shall see. I’m sure I’ll soon know if I’m ready. Also trying to fit a date in at the moment - times tight.”
Before appearing on the show, Adrian previously said he has “never been lucky in love” despite his birthday being on Valentine's day. However, the Liverpudlian has had three serious relationships beforehand with the longest lasting four years. Adrian, who joked his celebrity crush was Timothy "Tinhead" O'Leary from Brookside , said: “If you lined my exes up, they’re all very different.
"I like style on a guy, good looks. But all that goes out the window if they’re not funny and empathetic. I want someone to bring something interesting to the table that I don’t already have, otherwise what’s the point?”
One issue that drove a wedge between Adrian and Thomas was intimacy or the lack of it. However, Adrian is adamant he still sticks by his choice, adding: “It’s important to remember that it’s one thing having intimacy within a relationship and there’s another doing it on national television.”
Although Adrian has no regrets about appearing on the show, he is on the fence if he would go through the experiment again, but would jump at the chance to go back as an expert. He said: “There are a few things I’d like to say to people now, but then I take a breath and realise it isn’t worth it. We all feel a million emotions when we’re watching the show. We don’t get to see it any earlier than everyone else tuning in, but it’s important to remember that it was months ago, we’ve already processed it and moved on. If I wanted to say it, I’d have said it then.
“You get as much as you put in with the show. Me and Thomas worked so hard, and the more we worked, the more we found. For that, I will always be grateful. It was a slog of a journey, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Communicating your boundaries is so important, and I have always been afraid of it in the past, afraid of hurting someone’s feelings, but actually, in the long run, everyone is happier. Just approach with kindness.”
Moving forward Adrian teased where fans can see him next. He added: “It’s a really exciting time right now. I’m really enjoying doing the fashion reels on Instagram, I love the interaction with people on the questions and answers too and who knows maybe I’ll be on the TV again. I know there will be at least one more appearance coming this year.”
