Liverpool's hopes of getting their fixture against Newcastle United turned into an evening kick-off appear to have been dismissed by the Premier League.
The Reds are set to face Eddie Howe's side at St James' Park on Saturday, April 30, with the match scheduled to kick off at 12.30pm and be shown live by BT Sport. But with Jurgen Klopp's team playing a Champions League semi-final against Villarreal three days earlier, the Merseyside club had seemingly hoped to get the Magpies clash moved to 7.45pm.
However, the ECHO understands that after considering Liverpool's request for a later kick-off, the Premier League has turned it down and the match is likely to go ahead at 12.30pm.
