Liverpool looked something like their old selves again in an emphatic dismantling of Leeds on Monday.
A 6-1 thrashing at Elland Road left Jurgen Klopp beaming about it being Liverpool’s best performance of the season in the Premier League.
But after going so close to an unprecedented quadruple last season the Reds will finish this campaign without any silverware. There could also be the added blow of no Champions League football at Anfield next season.
Liverpool currently languish in eighth place in the Premier League table - nine points behind fourth-placed Newcastle - with just eight matches of the season remaining.
