Liverpool predicted line-up vs Tottenham as Jordan Henderson dropped and Darwin Nunez handed chance

Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Anfield for another huge match in the battle for European qualification.

Jurgen Klopp's side are looking for their fourth league win on the bounce after beating West Ham United at the London Stadium on Wednesday night. That came on the back of victories over Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.

The Reds had started those latter matches with the same starting XI. But they made one change to the side that started against the Hammers with Joel Matip coming in for Ibrahima Konate, who was back in training on Friday.

Success on Sunday would see Liverpool leapfrog Spurs and move as high as fifth, depending on how Aston Villa get on at Manchester United earlier in the afternoon.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, Klopp revealed that while Konate was back, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were sidelined and that Diogo Jota was carrying a knock. Jota wasn't pictured in training later in the day, along with Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara, although that does not necessarily mean they won’t be available for selection against Tottenham. Naby Keita also wasn't spotted but, surprisingly, Oxlade-Chamberlain was.

So what team will Reds boss Klopp pick?

Alisson Becker will remain in goal with Trent Alexander-Arnold starting at right-back, but continuing to drift into his new midfield role. Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson will make up the rest of the back four.

Moving into the midfield is where Klopp could make changes with Fabinho and Curtis Jones keeping their places, but Thiago Alcantara coming in for Jordan Henderson.

After his knock, Jota may have to settle for a place on the bench, with Darwin Nunez being reinstated to the starting XI alongside the in-form Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

And Luis Diaz may get more minutes after he made a big step on Wednesday night as he was substituted on for the last 30 minutes of the win over the Hammers. His first start since returning from injury will be coming soon.

Predicted line-up (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Jones, Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.
