Lost a race with Nunez early on but otherwise steady and pushed forward on occasion first half before but difficult time when isolated by Nunez second half. Even had a shot.

Kostas Tsimikas 8
Swung in a fine corner for the opener and a fine free-kick for the third, and was enthusiastic and decisive both in defending and going forward. Very good.
Jordan Henderson 6
Began much more lively than at City and provided a solid foundation in midfield, but was rushed in too much of his passing and struggled to keep the ball on the floor at times. Subbed.

Good energy and got forward in opening quarter, but became less effective after the tackle that inadvertently put Ramos clear for equaliser. Subbed.

Some decent touches as Liverpool wrested the early initiative but lost his way a bit before interval until coming again later. Close with one effort, though.

Bright from the first whistle and denied first-half goal only by decent Vlachodimos save and vital Grimaldo touch. Caused Benfica all sorts of problems with his pace and directness. Subbed.
Roberto Firmino 8
Linked play well, pressed fiercely and had header deflected over, but should really have shot when instead passing to Diaz when clear first half. On hand to tap in second and fine volley for the third. Subbed.
Diogo Jota 7
Brought his passing boots and regularly proved a threat as Liverpool regularly mined the left flank, and laid on the second. Subbed.
Mohamed Salah (for Jota 57) 6
First action saw him track Nunez all the way back down the wing. Close with a curler.

Kept things tidy in the engine room but overran a little as Benfica pushed everything forward late on.

Effortless if safe distribution from the Spaniard.

Sporadic entertainment down the left flank.
