Usually a midfielder, found matters tough early on but, like so many Liverpool youngsters, grew into the game.

The versatile midfielder, who has been playing at right-back, switched to the heart of defence and showed good moments of composure and defended impressively.

Oludare Olufunwa 7

Some nervy moments early on, particularly in possession, and booked for a strong tackle on Kelly. Better second half and began to dominate in the air, but sent off for conceding missed penalty.

James Norris 6

Given a real defensive test by Sinclair at times but continued to offer himself for the overlap going forward. Great engine.

Stefan Bajcetic 7

Began slowly but soon producing the kind of defensive midfield performance that has found favour with Klopp. Subbed.

Continued to build up his fitness with a confident display, particularly with his use of the ball and speed in possession. Subbed.
