Liverpool's focus is now turning to the transfer market after ending the first half of the Premier League season on a high with a win over Southampton.
Jude Bellingham will be their top target in the summer window, though they will be closely monitoring the midfielder. And Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted the Bundesliga side have little chance of keeping hold of him.
That admission comes as the eighth-richest man in the world entered the race to buy the club after Fenway Sports Group put the Reds up for sale and Wayne Rooney dismissed the criticism surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool news.
Dortmund make Bellingham admission
Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that his club stand little chance of keeping hold of Jude Bellingham. The midfielder has starred for the Bundesliga giants over the past three seasons.
His performances have attracted interest from a number of leading European clubs, including Liverpool. And Watzke has now conceded that Dortmund will likely be seeing Bellingham depart.
"We will have a general discussion about what he actually wants. We don’t have to pretend that the issue is not on the table. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can’t afford to have a fight financially,” he said.

Rooney hits back at Alexander-Arnold critics
Wayne Rooney has doubled down on his backing of Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the right-back having come in for heavy criticism this season. Alexander-Arnold has endured a mixed campaign as the Reds have struggled in the Premier League.
He has still earned a place in England's squad for the upcoming World Cup and is pushing to start for the Three Lions in Qatar. And Rooney believes that the criticism of the Liverpool star has been unfair.
“Fears about his defensive vulnerability are exaggerated. Yes, he has been exposed a few times this season, but I think that’s more reflective of Liverpool as a team than him individually," Rooney wrote for The Times.
Ambani enters race to buy Reds
The world's eighth richest man has entered the race to buy Liverpool, with Mukesh Ambani taking an interest in the Reds. Ambani has a net worth of around £90billion and has already enquired about the club.
Fenway Sports Group recently put the Premier League giants up for sale after 12 years of ownership. The American firm have placed a price tag in the region of £4bn on the Reds and are looking for someone to buy the club outright.
Ambani already owns IPL cricket giants Mumbai Indians and helped to set up Indian football's Super League. But he will have to fight off interest from the Middle East and the USA with SG having been swamped with tentative offers.
