As much as many sides would wilt under the pressure of Manchester City's recent domestic dominance, Liverpool don't look as though they are going anywhere.
Jurgen Klopp's team came up agonisingly short in the Premier League and Champions League last season. They are set to lose one of the key drivers behind the fight for four trophies - Sadio Mane is set to join Bayern Munich - but £85 million man Darwin Nunez will add something fresh to the forward options.
So while an extraordinary pursuit of a quadruple may not materialise again in 2022-23, Liverpool are likely to be the side pushing Pep Guardiola's sky blue juggernaut once again.

Carragher makes front three pick
Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes that Nunez will go straight into the starting XI at Anfield.
Late last season, it was Mane who played through the middle for the Reds, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah either side of him. Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino are also both adept at playing as a centre-forward.
However, Carragher thinks the £85 million arrival will go straight into the XI and has welcomed a possible refresh of the team's attacking options.
"Liverpool do need to refresh the frontline because of the age of that front three who have been absolutely fantastic for the last four or five years with Liverpool," he said. "It is sad to see it broken up in some ways but it had to come to an end sooner or later.
"With Sadio Mane looking like he's going to move on, Liverpool had to do something and he's the one they've identified. I think the start of next season Liverpool's front three will be Salah, Nunez and Diaz on the left."

Tchouameni explains transfer decision
Aurelien Tchouameni has said he opted to join Real Madrid over the likes of Liverpool because the lure of the Spanish giants was too great.
The France international is said to have been a target for the Reds and reports even indicated that he had spoken to Klopp about a potential switch. However, he completed an £85 million switch to the European champions this week.
Speaking after being unveiled as a Los Blancos player, Tchouameni said Madrid's interest made the decision straightforward.
"As soon as Real Madrid arrived on the scene, I did not hesitate,I want to leave a mark on football and the best club for this is Real Madrid," he said. "It's the best decision for me.
"...When Madrid called, I didn't hesitate and I talked about it with my family."

Nunez near miss
As much as Nunez has gone on to earn a high-profile move to Liverpool, his path to the Premier League could have been so different.
The Uruguayan has previously been strongly linked with Brighton & Hove Albion, while Sheffield United were also noted as possible suitors in 2020. The Blades were coming off the back of a ninth-place finish upon returning to the top flight, but were relegated the following campaign.
At that stage, Nunez was playing in the Spanish second tier with Almeria, although the Sheffield club are said to have been interested in him beforehand when he was playing for Penarol.
In the end, Nunez made the move to Lisbon and his blistering form for Benfica paved the way for him to become one of the most expensive players in the history of the game.
