Former Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino believes Thiago Alcantara is one of the most 'gifted players' he has seen in the Premier League.
The Spanish international initially struggled to get to grips with life in the Premier Leagu e following his £25million move to the Reds from Bayern Munich. However, the Liverpool playmaker certainly found his feet last season with a string of impressive displays.
Thiago has fast become the heartbeat of the Reds midfield alongside Fabinho and was in fine form once again as Liverpool saw off Manchester City in the Community Shield at the King Power yesterday.

And reacting to his performance yesterday, Cascarino believes the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich man is right up there with his technical ability in terms of the best the league has ever seen.
“Thiago’s an amazing footballer. There’s very few players who are so gifted. I would have him as probably the most gifted player I’ve seen in the Premier League – as in technique – he is extraordinary,” he told talkSPORT.
“We’ve all seen loads but Thiago is up there with the very best. Ever. Technically, he’s up there with the very best.
“Technically he has got everything. If he plays a lot of football, Liverpool will be close. If he has injuries, then Liverpool will suffer without Thiago in this team.”
