Liverpool have reportedly 'made contact' with Bruno Guimaraes over a potential summer transfer to Anfield.
According to GOAL, The Reds have been joined by La Liga champions Barcelona in their pursuit of the Newcastle United star as both sides look to add new blood to their struggling midfields.
Guimaraes has quickly become a fan favourite in the North East and Eddie Howe is planning on making the Brazilian one of the top five highest paid players in the Premier League to secure his future.

The 25-year-old played a pivotal role in Howe's side securing a top four finish ahead of Liverpool and is now being seen as someone who could improve Klopp's midfield.
However, according to reports Guimaraes is favouring renewing his contract at St James' Park as he is currently happy under the management of Howe.
The Brazilian was signed from Lyon in January 2022 in a £34.5 million deal and any bid to get him out of Newcastle would surely be worth more than double that.
Liverpool are currently targeting Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount as the summer transfer window beckons.
