'Outrageous Luis Diaz returns for a start'
Paul Gorst: A third Champions League semi-final of the Jurgen Klopp era it is, then and given the manager did not make several changes to his Merseyside derby team on Sunday, I am not expecting anything major this evening against Villarreal.
The big issue is at centre-back where Ibrahima Konate is again staking his claims. The French defender has been the 'Champions League partner' for Virgil van Dijk in the main this season but I'm keeping faith with Joel Matip. Konate can rest up for Newcastle at the weekend.
So my back five is as you were for the 2-0 win over Everton and with 83% possession against the Blues, the defence are unlikely to be in too much need of a rest anyway.

In midfield, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho are certs to start I feel, so the third man is a toss up between Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita. The captain injected some energy and life into the final third when he came off the bench on Sunday and I reckon his drive and determination will ensure standards don't slip this evening in a game where they are heavy favourites.
Up top, I'm going to recall the outrageous Luis Diaz for Diogo Jota with Sadio Mane leading the line down the middle in place of the Portugal international.
My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson; Salah, Mane, Diaz.
'Ibrahima Konate gets the nod in defence'
Ian Doyle: Two games from another Champions League final. One game from possibly winning the FA Cup. And, who knows, potentially five games from claiming the Premier League title.
These are crazy days for Liverpool, but one at a time, folks. And that means it's Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield this evening.
We can have a good guess as to how the Spaniards are going to play - cautiously. So how can Jurgen Klopp best overcome that?
There will be changes. In goal, Alisson Becker remains. As do Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at full-back. But I'd recall Ibrahima Konate alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre-back.
Midfield also sees the one rotation. Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara can continue their partnership, while Jordan Henderson replaces Naby Keita. The only issue here is Klopp has switched between Fabinho and Henderson in Europe. So it might be a time for Curtis Jones, although I'm sticking with Henderson.
Up front, Luis Diaz can replace Diogo Jota on the left with Sadio Mane staying central and Mohamed Salah right. As always in Europe, the availability of five substitutions means Liverpool's strength in depth can make a huge difference second half.
My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson; Salah, Mane, Dia z.
'Another Thiago masterclass'
Charlotte Coates: Here we are, just two games away from Liverpool in a Champions League final once again. These are the best of times to be a Reds fan with what this team are on the cusp of achieving.
Villarreal cannot and should not be overlooked in this semi-final - Liverpool's players and Jurgen Klopp certainly won't be doing especially after they knocked out Bayern Munich in the previous round.
There's a good chance the Yellow Submarine may look to stifle the Reds attack at Anfield and look to head back to Spain still in the tie.
In goal, Alisson Becker will start. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be the two full-backs with Virgil van Dijk being partnered by Ibrahima Konate in the centre of the defence.
The fantastic duo of Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara will continue in the middle of the pitch, but that third spot is up for grabs with Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita both battling for it. Keita got the nod in the win over Everton on Sunday, but I suspect Henderson will be recalled for this one.
Luis Diaz will come into the forward three on the left in place of Diogo Jota while Sadio Mane will carry on his fine form down the middle. Mohamed Salah will resume his usual place on the right of the forward three.
My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson; Salah, Mane, Dia z.
