Liverpool legend John Barnes doesn't believe losing in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations will have a lasting impact on Mohamed Salah.

Salah's Egypt side were beaten by Senegal in the final last Sunday in Cameroon in a penalty shootout after the match ended 0-0.

The 29-year-old returned to action for Liverpool on Thursday night when he came on as a second-half substitute inside Anfield packed with his adoring fans.
