Despite beating Manchester City in the Community Shield, it's fair to say that the start to Liverpool's new season could've gone better.
A 2-2 draw with newly-promoted Fulham on the opening day of the Premier League campaign was undoubtedly below expectation, as Marco Silva's side caught Liverpool napping when they should have been chomping at the bit.
To make matters worse, key midfield conductor Thiago limped off with an injury, leaving supporters fearing the worst for the Spaniard. The former Bayern Munich man is just one of several first-team squad members stuck in the treatment room, however.

And here's a look at who is still out of action and when we might expect them to return.
Thiago Alcantara
Fans have high hopes for Thiago this season, so the last thing anyone wanted to see was Liverpool's creative spark leaving the field against Fulham. The number six underwent a scan on Sunday, which confirmed a hamstring issue, but it is believed to not be as bad as first feared. Thiago is expected to be out of action for about six weeks.
Naby Keita
Guinea international Keita missed the Fulham match will a reported illness that was not Covid-related. He is back in training and is likely to be available for Monday's match against Crystal Palace. Whether he will be fit enough to earn himself a starting berth remains to be seen, though.
Diogo Jota
Portuguese goal-getter Jota is another suffering with a hamstring injury. Have initial developed the problem on international duty, it reared it's ugly head once again during Liverpool's pre-season tour of the Far East. The 25-year-old will not be rushed back but he is hoping to be back on grass before the end of August.
Ibrahima Konate
Jurgen Klopp needs no reminding of how important it is to have fit centre-backs, but he has been forced to start the season without Konate after an accidental collision during the Reds' final match of pre-season, against Strasbourg, resulted in a knee problem for the Frenchman. The towering defender, much to his frustration, will be out of action for at least a month.
Curtis Jones
Liverpool's shortage of bodies in midfield could've presented a vital opportunity for Jones, if he wasn't injured himself. An all too brief cameo in the Community Shield came to an abrupt end when the 21-year-old departed with what was later confirmed as a stress reaction. He is expected to be missing for the next couple of weeks.
Kostas Tsimikas
The 'Greek Scouser' is another defender who has endured a knee problem, but there is better news on Tsimikas. The left-back is due back in training this week and should be available for the Crystal Palace match.
Caoimhin Kelleher
The Reds' back-up goalkeeper is an Irish international these days and it was with his national side that he picked up a groin issue in June. He is yet to return to training and is looking at two weeks minimum before a possible return.
Calvin Ramsay
Liverpool's new full-back was raring to go, until an early pre-season test untethered a previously undetected problem. As a result, the former Aberdeen youngster is yet to train properly with his team-mates, but a return is believed to be not far off.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Unfortunately, Oxlade-Chamberlain is no stranger to the treatment table during his time on Merseyside. This time it's a hamstring injury, picked up during a match against Crystal Palace in the Far East. He's looking at another two months at least. Grim times indeed.
Kaide Gordon
The 17-year-old has missed all of pres-eason but is working his way back to full fitness. Expect to see him back at the training ground very soon.
